Perfect for a rider who wants to level up without committing to a two-day push.

Chimney Rock sits at the top of a 535-foot granite monolith above the Hickory Nut Gorge, and Lake Lure below it is one of the most photographed lakes in the Southeast. The ride in via Asheville and back through the gorge on NC-9 is stunning. ⚠️ Road status advisory: Several access routes to this area (US-74A from Asheville, US-64 from Hendersonville) sustained damage from Hurricane Helene and may still have closures or restrictions. NC-9 through Lake Lure has been reported open, but confirm current conditions before you ride — check NCDOT or call ahead. We'll update this listing as conditions stabilize.
